Offshore
Oil & Diving Accidents
Mrs
Lindsay was working offshore as a boat driver when she experienced
a recurrence of a previous injury. The boat continually
hitting off the waves combined with the lack of suspension
in the boat significantly worsened a back injury which she
had sustained some time earlier. Case Direct were successful
in winning compensaton of £95,000 for Mrs Lindsay. Her employers
were found liable as they should have provided more cushioning
in the driver’s seat of the motor boat.
Mr
Fraser had an accident while working offshore on an oil
rig. He strained his back when he tried to lift a 50lb piece
of equipment on a mud shaking machine. His employers were
at fault because they should have told him that it was a
two man job. They agreed to settle out of court and Mr Fraser
was paid £105,000 compensation for his accident.
Mr
Stevens was working offshore as a diver when he had his
accident. He injured his back whilst trying to lift the
door of a diving bell. His employers should have provided
mechanised lifting equipment for openning the door. We were
successful in winning Mr Stevens compensation of £76,000
without having to go to court.
